So, here we are with the gathering momentum of waves of Covid-19, with its mutations and variations; sending tremors widening the cracks in society that people are falling through, and suffocating the economy (an economy that was far from robust, anyway, for having been shattered by the global fiscal crisis of 2008).

 

Whatever view you hold concerning this virus and how it is being handled, Covid 19´s trajectory is not only something humans are having to live with, it is but the most recent in a trend of viruses making a cross-over from the animal world, coming at us in new ways, in faster succession and more severely. We are but at the beginning of whatever it is doing to our economy, to society and to our lives.  Medical science is in uncharted territory.

 

Governments, calibrating public health, the state of the economy and political expediency, endlessly issue directives on the likes of masks, distancing and degrees of closure.

The average person, like you and I, are on a merry-go-round where feelings of anger, confusion, fear and tedium circle endlessly on one another.  This has been going on long enough that we have so adjusted that everything we do takes place within the world Covid infection dictates. Whatever we end up doing in this context is the norm.

 

Finding one´s bearings on the outside is hopeless, for our everyday lives are also infected by another disease, the plethora of ways disinformation is rife. On top of which is an overall ingenuousness that sucks us into the echo-chambers of likes and dislikes, as the algorithms that monitor more and more of what we do force-feed us.

 

So where is it all going?

 

The purpose of this image/text series is to see if we can´t orient ourselves to the matter, so that we could each find our way on, in the circumstances.

 

You see, we belong within a great life-system whose presence and workings are buried within us, so thoroughly that we are it and it is us, to the extent that, when we separate ourselves from it, we stand apart from ourselves, too. (We become less than ourselves, thereby, our activity becoming disruptive for the system and harmful for us.) This means that when we rediscover being embedded within this great life-system, we find ourselves and life is no longer impossible. So, ...
