Dr. Adrijano Schwab Dr. Adrijano Schwab’s professional interests lie in Medicine and Sciences. He is also a ski teacher, a rescue diver of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, a professional skipper, and an international radiotelephonist. In his spare time he turns to art history, chess, archery, sailing and windsurfing, among other activities. He is the son of Marcel Elio Svab (v. Schwab - Schwaben, Bayern, Valley of Castles; due to common misunderstandings, for over seven centuries, the family has been living in the Valley of Castles) and Emilija Obrecht (v. Albrecht - Ober Bayern). A pupil of great promise, he completed his intensive secondary education in 1983, graduating with excellence from the Gymnasium in Ljubljana. A year’s military service followed. In 1984 he joined the Medical Faculty in Ljubljana. While there he became interested in cardiovascular health and the central nervous system. He enriched his knowledge in Mainz, Germany in 1989 in the Cardiology Department of Johannes Gutenberg University Clinic and in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1990 in the University Royal Victoria Hospital.

Upon receiving his M.D. degree in 1991, Dr. Schwab began his training as a Junior House Officer and Surgeon, which included four months in Neurosurgery; then, in 1992 he embarked on research at the Medical Faculty in Ljubljana. He also worked for a short time at the Diagnostic Center Bled. He earned a DSc degree from the New York Academy of Sciences in 1995. Between 1995 and 1997 he was engaged with Eli Lilly. Admitted in 1996 to the National Geographic Society, Washington DC, and to the Planetary Society of Pasadena, California since February 1998, he has sat on the latter organization’s New Millennium Committee, which plays an important role in advancing exploration of the solar system and the search for extraterrestrial life.

As a result of his contributions to scientific knowledge, the New York Academy of Sciences accorded Dr. Schwab special recognition in 1998. He was awarded two Twentieth Century Awards for Achievement by the IBC, Cambridge, England. Among other honors IBC selected him as International Man of the Millennium, Man of the Year 2000 and 2001, Deputy Director General, Member of the Intl. Order of Merit and Scientific Adviser to the Director General. In February 1999 he received the Twentieth Century Award for Achievement from ABI (Raleigh, NC, USA). He became ABIRA’s Deputy Director, Continental Advisor, ABI World Laureate, Man of the Year 1999 and 2000, Member of the Intl. Order of Ambassadors and ABI Torchbearer. He received ABI ’s Millennium Medal of Honor, Man of the Year 2000 Medal, Universal Award for Accomplishment, The Tesla award, Scientific adviser to the IBC Director General, Ultimate achiever award, Living science, Blue book, Legion of Honour, American Medal of Freedom, Vice president of the World Congress, Archimedes award, Da Vinci award, and the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose award by Indian Jagruthi Kirian foundation (National Indian award for Excellence). Since April 2000 he has been a Founding Member of the Diplomatic Council of the London Academy. In 2000 the Barons Editorial Board honored him with the Who’s Who Year 2000 Medal, the Who’s Who Trophy of Excellence Award, the Global Award for Accomplishment and the Who’s Who Flame of Achievement Award. His biography appears in many of the world’s most prestigious reference publications, including those of Marquis, IBC, ABI, Barons, and LDA - Diplomatic Directory. Dr. Adrijano Schwab has also received several Millennium Dedication honors in works such as ABI’s Five Hundred Leaders of Influence, IBC’s The First Five Hundred at the New Millennium, Outstanding People of the 20th Century, Dictionary of International Biography, Greatest Minds of the 21st Century, 100 of Lifetime Achievement, and the IBC Elite Portfolio Profile.
