DR. ABDUL RAZZAK RUMANE

Dr. Abdul Razzak Rumane is a Registered Senior Consultant ofCQI (UK) and a Certified Consultant Engineer in Electrical Engineering, associated with Dar Alkuwait Alkhaleejia, Kuwait. He was born in 1948 in the small village of Chandve in Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Abdul Rehman Hasanmiya and Rabia; his mother lives in India. He has two brothers and two sisters. There were no facilities for secondary schooling in Chandve when Mr. Rumane was ready to enter high school; thus, he was sent to a boarding school, Fajandar High School in Vahoor, where he completed his Secondary School Examination (S.S.C.) in 1965 with first class honors. He then attended Bombay University and completed his Inter Science in 1967. Dr. Rumane next joined the Government Engineering College at Aurangabad and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from Marathwada University, India, in 1972, again graduating with first class honors. He received his Ph.D. from Kennedy-Western University in the USA in 2005. He was awarded Honorary Doctorate by The Yorker International University, Italy in 2007. Dr. Rumane is an author of two books titled “Quality Management in Construction Projects” and “Quality Tools for Managing Construction Projects”.
His first engineering position was as Trainee Engineer with the Electro Sales Corporation, a position he took immediately following his graduation. In the years following, Dr. Rumane conducted engineering projects for a variety of companies. He has worked in various fields of engineering. Dr. Rumane is well experienced in design, supervision, design management, construction management, quality management, auditing of constructed works and is well versed in preparation of contract specifications and documents, application of measures for conservation of energy. He is familiar with various national and international codes and standards. During these years, Dr. Rumane also continued to pursue further education and career-enrichment opportunities. He attended various short-term courses as he could fit them into his schedule, and he completed a Diploma in Modern Management from the British Career Training College in 1982. He obtained a second Diploma in 1983, this one in International Trade from the British Management Association. Dr. Rumane is member of several professional organizations. He is a Chartered Fellow of C Q I (UK); a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India); and has honorary fellowship of Chartered Management Association (Hong Kong). He is Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, USA; Senior Member American Society for Quality, Member of SAVE International (The Value Society) and certified AVS (Associate Value Specialist), Member Project Management Institute, a Member of the Kuwait Society of Engineers; First class supervisor registered with MEW, Kuwait, and an Affiliate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. In addition, he is a Member of the National Geographic Society, Member of the London Diplomatic Academy, and is involved in community service via memberships in various welfare societies. Dr. Rumane has attended many international conferences and also made technical presentations. Dr. Rumane’s philosophy is one which promotes a blend of professional and social values: he believes that professional ethics and dedication will bring you to the top of your field but that your mission will be incomplete unless you share the grievances of others.
A maxim that he follows: ‘Be sure to spend and utilize a part of your earnings for the uplifting and betterment of the downtrodden’. And when you think about yourself, he says give a little thought to how you can be of service to others. Abdul Razzak Rumane is married to Noor Jehan, and the couple have two children. Their son, Ataullah, has a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and Master’s in Computer Science. Their daughter, Farzeen, has completed her Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.
